This project started with the aim of combining contemporary architectural form with the feel of an eclectic cabin. The design of the floor plan is a pinwheel with four wings stretched out across the site, each with their own distinct views of the landscape. The differing levels of each floor allow for a more intimate feel in the social programs such that the house can truly act as a vacation retreat. The small floor plan is intentionally compacted for the cozy feel of each space, with high ceilings and built-ins to keep the interiors from feeling cramped. The layout is designed with the primary bedroom situated within the main massing, and the guest wing accessed via the exterior which serves as an ADU.
